Circa 40s or 50s, this little vintage pin is adorable! It is porcelain and reminiscent of Grandma's fried chicken plate. (I say that because my Grandma had a special porcelain china platter just for her fabulous fried chicken - you might be interested to read about it on my blog! http://gallerialindashowcase.blogspot.com/2010/02/wonderful-find-that-takes-me-back.html)
It is a lovely hexagon and is slightly concave much like a little plate. It has a hand painted metallic gold rim that is a little worn here and there - just like real antique china. The hand painted peach is deep orange and you can see the brush strokes on it. Leaves are blue and green. On close inspection with a magnifying glass, I see a little crazing that is not noticeable to the eye - crazing can add to the charm of older porcelain as well!
This is a little piece of vintage art for your lapel with great colors that bring home the warmth of days gone by. Don't miss this one - it will be a conversation piece.
Hand-signed "Nami." Safety C-clasp works securely.
Could be used by jewelry makers to repurpose as a pendant or for mixed media, altered art.
