Copper brooch is from the 50s era and has a copper stylized lily on a flat hammered base with turned-up curled edges.
Obviously handmade, hand wrought - this gorgeous pin exhibits elements of a Morley Crimi design, although it is unsigned. A lot of the Morley Crimi copper work was only hallmarked "copper." Much of his work includes hammered, curled edges, stylized lily with wire swirl. These design elements were used in a variety of pieces from bracelets to necklaces and earrings by Crimi. However, the copper designers of that era were inspired by each other and similar elements can be found in designs by other maker.
We love the mystery when a maker does not sign his work so the detective work starts. This exact pin was found on eBay with a photo of the makers mark. You decide.
Substantial in size and quite sturdy, this would look GREAT on a hat, purse, or knit scarf. Also appropriate for dresses and casual outfits.
It has a safety clasp with a longer stick pin that is soldered onto the copper. It is 100% copper with designed oxidizing that brings out the design.
Condition: great, no flaws, obvious scratches, dents or dings. Could use a cleaning that I leave up to the buyer.
Size: 2.5 inches by 1.75 inches
